The Water Cycle

We have been learning about the water cycle. We have learnt that the Earth has a limited amount of water. That water keeps going around and around and around in what we call the Water Cycle. This cycle is made up of a few main parts: Evaporation, condensation, precipitation and collection.

Look at the amazing Water Cycle that we created to go on our classroom wall.

Tennis

Every Wednesday afternoon we have a coach come in take us for tennis. Below are some photos and a movie of us practising the skills that we are learning.

A Visit from Sally from Watercare

Today we had a very, very exciting morning! Sally from Watercare came into visit. First of all she talked to us about why water is important, what happens to water when we have used it, why waste water has to be treated, how wastewater gets to the treatment plant and how we can be SEWERWISE. After that we went outside and had lots of fun placing rocks on boards and pouring water over them to see what happened. It was interesting to see how many rivers we made. We made different kinds of rivers and watched to see what kind of river drained away the quickest. We also made large lakes to hold water. Last of all we came back into the classroom and watched what happened to different liquids when they were mixed with water. We have learnt that the only thing that should go down our drains is WATER.
